"Hurricane" one of Poems from my "Fiction" Book

It destroyed everything in its path. We convinced ourselves it wasn't that bad. We knew we would be in a different state one day. There would be no more rain. Not even a cloud in our skies. No more wind. Sunny days all the time. It got darker and darker. It got colder and rainier. The rain got so heavy we almost drowned. Waves of pain overtook us like an ocean. And the wind stung when it hit our cheeks. Rain pelted us and made us bleed.
We tried to cover up and protect ourselves. We keep putting on more and more clothing.
The more clothing we put on the easier it was for the monsters to find us. Perfect! Now we have the hurricane, the monsters and this heavy clothing.
How will we ever escape? Is our fate to be stuck in this hell? Is freedom an illusion? How did we do this? How did we get this bad? Is it possible there’s even more pain to be had?
What did we do to deserve this? Were good people don’t we deserve to have a good life? Don’t we deserve sunshine?
Don’t we deserve summer? Can we at least have summer once a year? Can we have some bar-b-q and swimming?
We promise we won’t complain when we’re sweating from all the rays! We will keep a smile on our face no matter what price we have to pay to get to better days.
The dark cloud ran us into the ground. It's cold rain and blowing and pushing us around knocked us into the ground with the heavy clothing we had to put on and we tried to hold down our house but we lost that too. What do we do? Who do we turn to? Who will believe us?
It seems so trivial that this one little hurricane can morph into all this darkness.
We're close to death because of one thing that was said. Then words piled up like garbage that's been festering for months because the garbage men are on strike.
The floors are dirty because we swept everything under the rug
Old fruit on the table with mold and flies. Nothing but lies
The flowers are dead-- they’re ashes when we touch them
The toilets are plugged up with tampons, feces and only God knows what. So stiffen that upper lip up. Get ahold of yourself. There’s noone to tell. Noone can help. Not one person cares.
Everyone is bad and they will only get scared. They’ll keep you there.
What if we ruin our clothes, what if we stub our toes? What if we grow out of our shoes? What if someone tries to hurt us? What if we stumble across a pebble while walking down the street and bust our heads open?
What if we care for a person and they hurt us even though they did nothing and then we can close our hearts and decide to never love again? What if we have no friends?
What if we wake up and nobody’s there? What if we don’t have enough money? What if the sun doesn’t rise? What if the sun’s in our eyes? What if every human is satan in disguise?
What if we make mistakes? What if we can’t find our way? What if we can’t find anything to be afraid of?
What if we don’t have enough?
What if we don’t have enough food? What if our food spoils? What if it doesn’t taste good tomorrow? What if our stove breaks? What if we all have headaches? What if we can’t sleep?
What if we can’t breathe? What if nobody likes me?
What if I’m wrong? What if I’m right? What if the day never comes and it’s eternal night?
